Please read quotes from parents sharing their love for their child's school. These are direct quotes pasted from parents' testimonials:
"Our family has been a member of The Saint Matt’s Family since our oldest was in Kindergarten. Our boys have grown into amazing young men with the help and guidance of all the teachers and Faculty. My family has had the pleasure of huge Baseball and Soccer Championships with excellent coaching. Our youngest is Graduating this year and our memories of Saint Matt’s will always be cherished by our family. We are and always will be Saint Matt’s Proud"
"I am so proud to be a member of the St. Matt’s community. When it came time to decide where we would send our kids to school there was no decision to make, St. Matt’s was it! We have been members of St. Matthew parish for most of our lives. Our children come from a family of St. Matt’s alumni. My husband and I are class of 93 and 96. Our siblings, Meghan And Stevie Hannigan, Jennifer and Danny Muldoon, and Kaitie Brady are St. Matt’s alumn as well. Jessica and Jimmy are in 7th and 5th grade. They love their school just as much as we did when we were there. The values, education, respect, morals, and faith that they receive from St. Matt’s is everything we ever wanted for our children and more. Thank you so much to all of the teachers, staff, home and school, Fr. Welsh and Sister John for continuing to make St. Matt’s the best."
"I was baptized at Saint Matthew’s in 1983 and always felt a connection to the parish. I knew I wanted my son to feel the same sense of community and learn Christian values while receiving the best education. Choosing St. Matthew was the best decision and every day we are grateful for our school, parish and the lifelong friendships we made through the years."
"I’m so grateful to be apart of such a great school and parish. St Matts makes school fun. Sports, dances, fundraisers, sacraments and education are just some of the reasons why we love St Matts! Thank you for all the great friendships and memories we have made here."
"Happy Catholic Schools week!! Proud to be a member of the Saint Matt’s family and so happy my girls have made lifelong friends here."
"We joined St.Matthew School when our oldest went into first grade! Our children have received sacraments along with friends and faith!!!"
"We are very thankful for all the wonderful teachers, staff and religious members of the St Matthew community. I cannot say enough how proud of the education and memories my children have from this school. We are also very thankful for some of the parents and staff behind the scenes that make these activities happen. Best school in the city!"
"St Matts has always been such a close knit community. Both our children are now St Matts
Alumni. The strong bonds of friendships they have made are priceless. The teachers are so dedicated."
"What St. Matthew means to us......community, friends, school spirit, sports, activities, happiness, love, safety, fun, plays, singing, smiles, laughter, education, respect, morals, dedication, tradition, and the ability to make memories that will last a lifetime. SMS proud on this celebration of Catholic Schools Week."
"After graduating from Saint Matthew in 1991, Frank and Monica Zaccone continued to stay in the parish. They knew it was the right choice for their children: Gianna Zaccone (‘15), Antonio Zaccone (‘19), Francesco Zaccone (3rd grade) and Vincent Zaccone (1st grade). Saint Matthew provides much more than academic excellence. They teach core values such as serving and respecting others, growing in faith, and moral-decision which are key qualities in being successful leaders. We greatly admire the environment, faculty, and staff Saint Matthew’s has given our children to succeed in the future."
"We are thankful and proud to be a part of the best school and parish around! Our happiest times are always at SMS."
"What inclusion is all about:
Joey has been practicing with the St. Matt’s Swim Team for two years now. We were encouraged to join to give him pool time in the winter and for him to be around typical kids (and for them to get used to being around him; if they know him, they are less likely to stare at his behaviors or to ignore him- he can just be one of them).
Today, he tried competing in a meet for the first time. Joey is a fish, but the organization of a swim meet I thought was impossible. It wasn’t a perfect race, but he was given the opportunity to participate. With modifications and accommodations, it worked! It just takes a community to care enough to bend the rules and make exceptions for one of their own to be included. The encouragement (and patience) these coaches, parents, and kids have shown for our son means the world to us."
